I’m Christine Vicencio, a Vancouver-based Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC). I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Services, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and additional certifications and training in mental health and addiction. My counselling journey began long before my formal education. I have a deep passion for helping people and understand that healing looks different for everyone. I believe that culture and community foster growth. Over the years, I’ve continued to expand my training, so that I can offer clients care that is both evidence-based and grounded in real-world understanding.

With over 20 years of counselling experience in diverse settings, I bring both professional training and lived experience into my work, which equips me to support each client’s unique needs. I regularly pursue ongoing education to expand my knowledge and range of skills, stay updated on best practices, and offer my clients the most informed and evidence-based care.

My professional experience, alongside my experiences as an Asian immigrant, informs my understanding of how culture, identity, and mental health stigma can affect the ways we navigate life. I am aware of the limited representation of Asians in the counselling field and am passionate about helping bridge that gap by offering culturally inclusive, trauma-informed, and compassionate care. While I specialize in supporting Asian clients, I work with individuals of all backgrounds. My approach is grounded in trauma-informed care, cultural inclusiveness, and deep respect for your lived experience.

As a long-time advocate for people navigating mental health and addiction struggles, I’ve learned that healing looks different for everyone. Using a person-centered approach, I meet you where you are and support you in the ways that feel most meaningful, based on your needs and goals. Additionally, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and solution-focused approaches. My goal is to support you as you define and reach your own potential.
